Kanchenjunga Base Camp Trek

Overview

With the literal meaning of “five great treasures of snow”, Kanchenjunga is the third highest mountain in the entire globe with the altitude of 8585m. Situated in the eastern Nepal, Kanchanjunga actually has seven major peaks. This extremely furious and unpredictable mountain peak is known for the avalanches it throws down which are said to be largest.

Eastern portion of Nepal is typically authenticated by a wide diversity of various ethnic group including Rai and Limbu residing, extensive range of flora and fauna because of its higher summer rainfall, rare remoteness and the invincibly astonishing mountain panorama.

The trip starts with a short airstrip from Kathmandu to Biratnagar. From Biratnagar we will drive to Basantapur and commence the trek to Chauki. Following the glacial torrent of Tamur and Ghunsa River we will trek towards the Kanchanjunga Himal.  The peak dwarfs the entire alpine grandeur dominating the whole area. We will return back following the vivid southern traverse of the mountain to Mirgin La pass (4500m). This tricky traverse of the region is rarely visited in the recent years due to its uber -hypocritical character. Apart from all these, the adventure seekers from all over the globe come here to feel the extreme side of nature.
